Community Outreach

Community involvement is a top priority for the Division of Nephrology. Members of the Division participate in medically related efforts at local, state, national, and international levels.These include membership and leadership positions in numerous societies, including the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the Society for Pediatric Research, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the International Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the American College of Nutrition, The American Heart Association, the American Society of Hypertension, and the Florida Society of Nephrology.

Keeping in touch worldwide not only has enriched the Division’s staff but is also invaluable to the patients and families we serve. Patients are able to better cope with their disease because of the interdisciplinary approach to their care. Working together, division staff, patients, and parents are producing a store of experience and expertise for the benefit of all children who suffer from kidney disorders.
