Welcome!
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Division of Pediatric Nephrology consists of five full-time board certified pediatric nephrologists, a complete nursing staff; including a clinical nurse liaison and a research nurse coordinator, and three clinical and research fellows. We provide in-patient care at Holtz Children’s Hospital and have multiple out-patient clinics throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. The past year was characterized by continued success in both clinical and academic pursuits. The number of patients entering the End Stage Renal Disease program has continued to increase. A record number of renal transplants, as well as multi-visceral organ transplants, were performed. In addition, the Division was successful in its academic activities, including, publishing a large number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting at many regional, national, and international conferences. Our faculty members are invited for guest lectureships throughout the world. The Division also continues to attract the highest quality of pediatricians into our fellowship training program.
We are proud that our program at Holtz Children’s Hospital was ranked first in the South East Region and tenth in the nation by U.S.News & World Report’s America's Best Children's Hospitals for kidney disorders. This acknowledgement is a recognition of the hard work and dedication by the faculty and staff of the Division who work tirelessly towards our goal of achieving excellence in all areas of academic endeavor, encompassing patient care, research and medical education.
