What we treat

pediatric-nephrology

Ranked as one of the best programs for kidney disorders in the country by U.S.News & World Report, the Pediatric Nephrology (Kidney Diseases in children and adolescents) Program consists of five full-time board-certified pediatric nephrologists, a complete nursing staff; including a clinical nurse liaison, a research nurse coordinator, and three clinical and research fellows. The Program is a leading resource for the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, and adolescents with renal disease; experimental and clinical research; and teaching.

With outpatient visits exceeding 4,000 per year (excluding outpatient dialysis treatments which total approximately 3,900/year), the Division’s staff is an experienced interdisciplinary team, dealing not only with the medical complexities faced by children with serious disease, who often require hemodialysis and kidney transplantation, but also confronting the practical and psychological problems patients and their family’s experience.
