Making Connections for People with Disabilities
Economic, legislative, and social changes are affecting the systems of care for individuals with Developmental Disabilities and their families. As a result, the Mailman Center is faced with the challenge of finding innovative, cost-effective and efficient solutions to continue to provide high-quality services and expand our outreach services for individuals with Developmental Disabilities and their families. Therefore, we hosted a retreat to work with Mailman Center faculty, staff and community partners to assess our current needs as a center and develop a vision and strategic plan to address those needs. Strategic planning workgroups were organized to continue where the retreat left off and each group was tasked with coming up with action steps in the areas of advocacy, education/training, clinical programs and research/contracts.
